Book Outlet Haul

I have been wanting to read more classic books because I haven’t really payed much attention to them. When I was in high school I would just look up the summarize on spark notes and just go from there. I feel like I cheated myself out of a good relationship with the classics. So, to fix this issue, I went on Book Outlet and browsed through their classic selection and ordered 6 books.

The first book I ordered has been on my wishlist for a while. When I looked for this I could only find the summarized version of it. I got so flabbergasted when I saw the full version on Book Outlet. I fell in love with the movie as a child and I always wanted to read it. I am not very fond of the cover but I don’t care because I am in love ❤

I have always been interested in fairy tales, so when I found this book I automatically added it to the cart. I heard that the original fairy tales are super creepy so I am excited to dive into this one.

I have not heard many things about this book but I decided to take a chance on it. I read the first 2 chapters in it yesterday and it already grabbed my attention. I am looking forward to finishing it soon. It is a deep book dealing with suicide and bullying. If you like reading about stuff like that then I suggest it for you. Look forward to writing a full review on this book soon.

I have heard good and bad reviews about this one. I decided to buy this because I am wanting to widen my readings. It is only 470 pages but by the looks of it and the way people talk about it, it may take me a while to read. But we’ll see.

This one I bought because it was only $0.69…I have zero clue what this book is about but the cover reminded me of Jack and the Beanstalk…I may be completely wrong but I am hoping it is good. I have little to high expectations which is great because I love going into a book clueless sometimes.

The last book I purchased was a 2 books in one set…The 150th Anniversary edition of Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland & Through the Looking Glass. The cover of this book is beautiful! The hat looks black in the picture I took but when you move the cover the hat turns gold! Now, I have seen the movies to this but I have never read the books to them, so I am looking forward to it. I haven’t heard any bad reviews. It seems like people really love them.

What is your favorite classic book and movie?

  1. I love that Alice edition ! And my favourite classic is Frankenstein

  2. I don’t have a favourite classic movie but my favourite classic is Brave New World by Aldous Huxley.

I don’t read classics as often as I should anymore though

  3. My “favourites” change constantly (I’m so fickle) but the most recent film adaptation of a classic I enjoyed was the BBC’s War & Peace. I read the book alongside and all in all it was an enjoyable read/watch! 🙂
